JOREN EH?

Yes, that’s ['joʊrən].
Proud 1990 vintage, born and raised in a small rainy country called Belgium.
La Belgique is why I love beer, chocolate and travelling to other countries.
The nineties gave me Darkwing Duck, the Super Nintendo and a bad first idea of what music is supposed to sound like…

But also a deep fascination for digital innovation.
Seeing the internet, video games, cellphones (you know, portables before they were smart) and so much more become commonplace sparked something in me. A spark that continues to make me feel all warm & fuzzy about new technology and its impact on our lives. And now that’s the stuff I do for a living. Yay!

Oh, and on my own time I like to go to the movies (people still do that), cook, swim, skate & sing karaoke (just when nobody’s watching).

I joined the Clockwork Belgian office’s founding team as UX designer and worked my way up to the become the unit's lead digital strategist. I implemented human-centred design approaches, designed strategies and released products in multi-disciplinary teams  jumping from one industry into another, learning about their business and the people in it.

As part of the Interfaculty program, organised between the Belgian, German and Dutch Communication- and Multimedia Design courses, I teach third year students the basics of Game Based Learning through a hands-on course focussing on user-centered research methods.

I was responsible for creating and executing a marketing plan that fit within the overall Graphine strategy. Most of my time was spent on pre-sales and organising Graphine's attendance at conferences such as Paris Games Week, Gamescom, GDC Europe, GDC San Francisco, Siggraph, Montreal International Games Summit, Digital Dragons & Develop: Brighton.
